A big thank you to all who have applied to be part of the MagicFest team for 2010. The response was tremendous and all volunteer positions have now been filled. If you missed the deadline then please check back next year.

Message to MagicFest Volunteers

Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Magic Festival!

The Edinburgh International Magic Festival is a non-profit organisation which has created the first ever event of its kind in the UK. The Festival is aimed at a variety of audiences ranging from Scottish school children and their families, through the magic-loving public, to magicians and magic hobbyists.

To make the first ever Magic Festival happen, we will rely on a team of volunteers to support us who will play a pivotal role in bringing to life our slogan: "unbelieve it!"

The Festival takes place in Edinburgh from Wednesday 7th to Sunday 11th July 2010 and aims to deliver a colourful programme of daytime and evening events.

Are you looking to develop your career opportunities? To get some rewarding experience and have fun? Or maybe to meet the best magicians in the UK and learn a few magic tricks? Well, then this opportunity is for you!

We've got several volunteer positions available, including Front of House Steward, Promotion Assistant and Backstage Assistant. You can find the job descriptions below.

• The deadline for volunteer positions applications is 28th May 2010. We have a limited number of positions available and once these have been filled, the application process will be closed.


• There will be morning, afternoon and evening shifts available throughout the Festival week, each approx. 2- 3.5 hrs long. Each volunteer is asked to be available for a minimum of two to three shifts (depending on the nature of the volunteer role). We also ask you to attend a magic training day on Saturday 3 July from 10am till 3pm.
