Dreaming of becoming a wizard or wizardess?

Then Magic School is for you!

This summer you will have the opportunity to learn, create and perform your own magic at very hands-on and all-new, 'Magic School' workshops which will teach you the secrets and give you the skills to perform them!

Last year Magic School was listed as one of the top kids’ days out in the UK! (Sunday Times) And this year in addition to our one-off workshops we introduce an amazing, all-new 5-day course for young magicians!  Kids attending the 5-day course will be taught for a day by a special celebrity guest from BBC’s "Help my supply teacher is Magic" – John the Magician!

Magic School is run by top pro magician Gary James, who famously ‘vanished’ Harry Potter Author JK Rowling at Waterstones in Edinburgh.   Magic School is for CHILDREN ONLY, but muggle parents are allowed to all the other shows in the dazzling MagicFest lineup!

Over 300 children have already taken part - magic newbies welcome!

Please note, all children should be registered for Magic School in advance and therefore, tickets for this event are not available on the door.

Choose EITHER the 10am session OR the 1.30pm session and receive amazing magic tuition over 5 x 2.5hour workshops!

Learn how to make your friends float, make everyday objects appear and disappear and meet some of the coolest magicians in Scotland!  Each of the 5 daily sessions is themed so that you learn in depth a new area of magic, from startling levitations to crazy card tricks.

We’ll give you the secrets and the performance skills to use them.  You’ll learn mind-blowing magic you can show all your friends and family, and make new magician friends AND top MagicFest performers even drop in during the week to show you some of their best tricks!

At the end of the 5 day course we finish with a performance at the Scottish Storytelling Centre Theatre where you will get to perform on stage along with Gary in your very own magic show!  Each Magic School participant receives a ticket for a parent or friend to come watch the show at the end.  A limited number of additional tickets will be on sale to families and friends of Magic School participants.

There is a maximum of 50 places for Magic School available (25 at the morning session and 25 at the afternoon session) for this course and no further tickets will be released.

One-off Magic School Workshop • £15

A whirlwind 2.5 hour Magic School session teaching you some really cool tricks you can go home and show your friends and family!

Magic School finishes with a mind-blowing performance from Gary, which you will love and remember for a long time!  Your parents can relax in the Cafe next door or go shopping, confident you are being looked after by an experienced team of magicians and child minders and HAVING A REALLY GOOD TIME!
