The Scottish Storytelling Centre will host MagicFest shows in 99-seat Netherbow Theatre. The Centre is an award-winning public building designed by Malcolm Fraser Architects, halfway along Edinburgh's Royal Mile which includes the historic John Knox House.

This venue, with its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a small café for meeting friends is a great place for experiencing the art of magic.

The Vault is a brand new purpose built venue, converted in 2007 from an old storage area at the bottom of the building containing the Augustine United Church. The Vault has its own entrance in Merchant Street

It is a small-scale theatre space with unreserved, raked seating. The conversion into a theatre uses the original features of the building to provide an atmospheric and truly magical venue where you will be just inches away from the action and get the most unique entertainment.

Sandeman House is an imposing converted church, hidden away down one of the Royal Mile closes. The space is delightfully bright and airy and boasts a small enclosed garden right outside the main building. The venue is ideal for Magic School activities.

Facilities:

  • Very limited disabled access
    (The venue is a listed building and has very limited access for visitors with restricted mobility or for disabled visitors. The access to the venue is down Trunk's Close that has no stairs but quite steep and there is a set of stairs (around 4 steps) up to the main entrance. The staff will be happy to help and offer assistance on the stairs, this is not always agreeable to all customers.)
  • Unfortunately, toilets are located on the basement level, and are not wheelchair accessible. However, it is possible to use the accessible toilet of the Storytelling centre next door.
